Twitter summary: Clary, the teenaged girl, continues acting like a child while venturing to Idris against Jace’s wishes.
The good: I truly struggled to finish reading this book. I got to chapter 8 and that’s when I rapidly lost interest. Let me move onto the next point because I didn’t enjoy anything about the book. Too much irrelevant and annoying teenage angst.
The bad: Clary.
Exhibit A: “Of course you didn’t know. You don’t know anything about Idris. You were just upset about being left behind, like a child, and you had a tantrum. And now we’re here.” — Luke (Chapter 2)
Exhibit B: “Go ahead and do whatever you want, regardless of who it hurts. You always do anyway, don’t you?” — Isabelle (Chapter 5)
Exhibit C: Even Amatis, who basically meets Clary the day before, is done with her (Chapter 6)
Favourite character of the book: Max insert sad face emoji here
Recommendation: No and I will not be finishing the Mortal Instruments series.
